I recently had the pleasure of recording an English voice over for HugoDécrypte - Grands Formats, for their documentary "Forget Hormuz: I crossed the canal Trump wants to take over". The documentary looks at the Panama Canal and the political tensions surrounding it, with HugoDécrypte travelling through Panama to meet people and explore the story behind the headlines.

I played Iliana, a protestor in Panama.

A quick trip to Panama

The English voice recording took place at More Than WATT in Paris, where we worked through Iliana's scenes and found the right tone for her contribution to the documentary.

This is one of the things I particularly enjoy about being an English voice over artist. One week you can be recording a corporate film, the next you're stepping into the shoes of someone you've never met, in a country you've never visited, and helping bring their story to an international audience.

There's something very satisfying about seeing a project go from recording the English voice over to the finished programme so quickly. I recorded on the Thursday and by Monday, the documentary was being broadcast on France.tv and France 5.

It was a pleasure to be part of a HugoDécrypte Grands Formats production, bringing an English voice to a story that spans continents, cultures and some pretty big political questions.

Another interesting project, another character to discover, and another reminder of just how varied life can be as an English voice over artist in Paris.
