Sometimes, a project arrives that feels bigger than the sum of its parts. "Landscapes of Memory" was one of those... Commissioned to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the film is a poignant tribute to memory, landscape, and the legacy of lives shaped by conflict. It will be screened during a special ceremony in the Hémicycle
The 8th May 1945 marked the end of the Second World War. 80 years later, a moment to pause, reflect, and remember. I was honoured to be asked to lend my voice to Landscapes of Memory, a poignant tribute to the legacy of lives shaped by conflict.
The film will be shown during a special ceremony in the Hémicycle, an iconic space in European politics and one that carries the weight of many national memories. To know that my voice will be part of this deeply symbolic event is both moving and humbling.
Recorded from My Home Studio
The session was recorded remotely from my home studio in Paris whilst the client and agency dialled in from Belgium. Together we shaped a read that was calm, steady, and deeply respectful. No frills. No flourish. Just a sincere English voice over, designed to guide viewers through images and text with care and clarity.
Why This Project Meant So Much
As voice over artists, we often jump from one subject to the next! A tech product on Tuesday, a tourism video by Friday. But every now and again, a script arrives that stays with you.
Landscapes of Memory is a quiet, powerful piece about war, loss, and legacy. It reminds us that remembrance isn’t passive, it’s something we do. Through film, through ceremony, and yes, even through voice.
I’m proud to have played a small part in honouring such a significant milestone.
