When Anatole Studios in Lyon contacted me about a casting for the English audioguide for the Louvre Museum, I could never have imagined the journey that lay ahead. To my delight, the producer called back to say that the client loved my voice and had selected me for the project!
This was also my first experience working on a directed session using SessionLinkPro. After a quick test call to ensure my studio was properly connected to theirs, we were ready to roll. On the big day, I clicked the provided link and was instantly connected not only with the studio team at Anatole but also with the agency Nuits Noires and the clients from the Louvre Museum.
Over the next three hours, I recorded audioguides for nine extraordinary pieces of artwork. The narratives were rich and diverse, offering a glimpse into fascinating histories and characters. I became Princess Nefertiabet, proudly presenting all her possessions as depicted on her stela. Then I transformed into Ummayat, reminiscing about her life at the crossroads of the Roman and Parthian Empires.
But my favorite role? Impersonating the Sleeping Hermaphroditus, peacefully dozing on their lounger. Channeling the elegance and mystery of that sculpture was a unique and playful challenge.
It was a whirlwind of storytelling, history, and emotion, and I loved every second of it. The experience also gave me a deeper appreciation for the creative and technical collaboration that goes into bringing art to life for museum visitors. Many thanks to everyone involved!
So, the next time you find yourself wandering the halls of the Louvre, consider grabbing an audioguide. Who knows? You might hear my voice guiding you through the rich tapestry of history and art. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try to hunt down those nine pieces of art I narrated. It’ll be like a personal scavenger hunt through one of the world’s greatest museums.
Good luck—and happy exploring!
