Some projects stand out, and this was one of them. When I stepped into the booth to voice the English journalist for BNP Paribas’ Unexpected People podcast, I knew I was part of something meaningful.

This series dives into the stories of BNP Paribas employees who volunteer their time for causes close to their hearts, with the bank’s support. My job? To guide listeners through these inspiring conversations with curiosity, warmth, and just the right touch of professionalism.

Finding the Right Voice

A journalist’s voice in a podcast isn’t just about reading lines, it’s about setting the tone. The delivery has to be engaging, inquisitive, and natural. Too formal, and it would feel stiff. Too casual, and it would lose credibility. The balance had to be just right.

Bringing the Stories to Life

Recording at Capitaine Plouf, I worked to ensure each question, transition, and statement felt effortless. The goal? To keep listeners hooked, drawing them deeper into the journeys of these passionate volunteers. It’s all about subtle shifts, pace, intonation, the perfectly timed pause to create a seamless and engaging experience.

Why This One Mattered

As a voice over artist, I often don’t get to see the impact of my work. But this time, I could feel it. These were real people making a difference, and I had the privilege of helping share their stories.

Episode 1 of Unexpected People podcast is now live. Have a listen, you might just be inspired!
