I’m writing this with a slightly hoarse voice, a full heart, and a head still buzzing from The Great Big VO Social... If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you take a load of voiceovers out of their booths and put them in the same room and the answer is: magic!

One of the best things about the GBVO Social is, without question, the people.

I met voiceovers who’ve been in the industry for years, people with ridiculously good accents and impressions, and podcast hosts whose voices I’ve been listening to for ages. There was something quietly surreal about chatting over a drink with people whose work has been in my ears for so long.

What really stood out was how generous everyone was with their time and energy. No gatekeeping, no ego, just genuine enthusiasm for voiceover and for each other.

Finally, we need to talk about the pies. The legendary pies...

If you’ve been to the GBVO Social before, you’ll already know. If you haven’t, let me be clear: the pies are delicious. I had the Steak and Ale, and it was worth travelling all the way to Manchester for! Voiceover networking is important, but an excellent pie absolutely elevates the experience.

I left feeling motivated and inspired and excited for a wonderful 2026 with new contacts, new ideas, and a renewed love for this wonderful community! Special thanks to Rob & Helen Bee for creating a space where voiceovers can simply be themselves...
